Bringing a CTO’s vision to life in a central government department
The challenge
The Technology Directorate at a central government department had been through a lot of change in a very short space of time. They had no clarity about the strategic vision of the leaders, or the capabilities needed to deliver that vision.
Our approach
- Defined and communicated the CTO’s strategic vision and the roles, behaviours, and capabilities required to deliver it.
- Created a delivery roadmap to visualise all work over the coming fiscal year.
- Designed and rolled out an engagement campaign to make sure teams understood the vision for change and their role in it.
The outcomes
- A shared vision and clear visibility of the priorities, challenges and opportunities to tackle together.
- Documented as-is and target organisational structures and a detailed portfolio roadmap.
- All-staff events to inspire, excite, and promote collaborative working across all teams.
